HEPA is great for particles, but for gases/odors you need activated carbon or dedicated filters. The EPA indicates that CADR is for particles and that for gases, another type of filtration is needed (and there isn't such a standardized classification).
What to look for

“activated carbon” with a good amount of material

Filter seal (to prevent air from "escaping" through the sides)
